COURSE DATES February 12/13, 2022 COURSE LOCATION Seamless Health 175 Mostar Street Stouffville, Ontario L4A 0Y2 COURSE DESCRIPTION Seamless Heath in conjunction with Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and NP educator John Holbrook, NP-PHC, BScN, CNCCP(c), AA, A-EMCA , is pleased to offer a BLS/ACLS certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) is the fundamental course for healthcare and emergency medical providers. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is the pre-eminent advanced resuscitation course for individuals who routinely respond to cardiac arrests or emergencies. BLS will be offered Saturday morning, and then after lunch we will continue with ACLS Saturday afternoon and Sunday. For those who which to receive BLS certification only, you will attend Saturday morning. For those wishing ACLS recertification (you must show proof of current/valid BLS) you will attend the ACLS portion only starting Saturday at lunch. For students looking for BLS/ACLS you will join us for the full weekend. Basic Life Support (BLS) is the foundation for saving lives after cardiac arrest. It is designed for healthcare professionals and trained first responders who provide care to patients in a wide variety of settings, and teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in pre-hospital and in-facility settings. The Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Course is designed to teach the skills needed to assess and administer care within the first 10 minutes of an adult cardiac arrest. Providers learn the skills needed to manage advanced cardiac life support scenarios: respiratory emergency, various types of cardiac arrest (simple VT/VF, complex VT/VF, PEA (Pulseless Electrical Activity) and asystole), pre-arrest emergencies: stable and unstable bradycardia and tachycardia, acute coronary syndromes and stroke. TARGET AUDIENCE This in-person course is available to healthcare professionals in Ontario, Canada. No previous experience is necessary. PREREQUISITES/CO-REQUISITES Pre learning Students MUST complete online prework and successfully pass an online test prior to attending class. John is a very experienced Nurse Practitioner and has also worked in flight critical care with Ornge. He has advanced degrees in Infectious disease and Primary Health Care.
