HOW DOES BOTOX® FOR MIGRAINES WORK?

When the product is used to treat migraines, is injected in the head, neck and pericranial muscles. It blocks the chemicals that transmit pain signals from your brain, stopping them before they get to the nerve endings in the head and neck area. Each Botox® treatment can last as long as four months, Botox® treatments are not effective in treating other types of headaches. Results will vary for each person.

WHAT’S A BOTOX® TREATMENT LIKE?

A consultation to review your medical history and your treatment goals is the first step in the process. After that consultation, it’s just a matter of scheduling your first appointment. The treatment itself is simple. Most appointments are generally short with little to no discomfort associated. There is no downtime associated with the injections, so you can get right back to your regular schedule after your appointment.

HOW EFFECTIVE IS BOTOX® FOR MIGRAINES?

Botox® has proven to be an effective form of treatment for many patients who suffer from migraines. Several studies have been conducted of Botox® headache treatments, and in one, almost half of the migraine patients who received two treatments said the number of headache days they experienced each month was cut in half.
